AIMS AND SCOPE

The 6th international conference »eLearning Baltics« (eLBa) 2013 will again bring together researchers, practitioners and scientists, business people and user, people using eLearning products and services as well as people producing them. 

eLBa2013 covers different aspects of learning, training and teaching with digital media
in various settings such as classroom, university, workplace, home or mobile environments. This includes formal as well as informal methods and technologies in different branches like vocational education and training, tertiary education or research, but also construction and different levels in manufacturing like the office or shop-floor-level.

eLBa2013 addresses diverse topics and perspectives, technologies and theories, implementations and evaluations of eLearning from the fields of computer science, pedagogy, psychology and design.

Accordingly, we invite experts from all these fields to contribute to eLBa2013.

SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION POLICY

All submissions are requested to be uploaded to the EasyChair platform of eLBa2013:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=elba2013 under strict consideration of the schedule of submission deadlines!

eLBa2013 Proceedings get published at the publisher “Fraunhofer IRB Verlag”.
Authors of notified paper publications must transfer their copyrights to the Fraunhofer IRB Verlag.

The eLBa2013 program committee invites the following submissions:

  • We invite submissions presenting original academic or industrial research. Please submit an extended abstract of at least 3 pages (shorter abstracts will be rejected) in English language via EasyChair until February24, 2013. The three-page extended abstract shall introduce the research question treated in the full paper including applied methods and expected results. Extended Abstracts/Full Papers underlie a non-blind peer-reviewing procedure. The Scientific Track Language is English!
    We expect camera-ready papers of 8 to 12 pages according to the template by April 21, 2013. Accepted submissions will have to be presented by at least one author at eLBa 2013 in Rostock and will be published in the conference proceedings. Accepted submissions require registration and payment until April 28, 2013 in order to be published in the conference proceedings. The respective invoice will be sent along with acceptance notifications.

  • We ask for workshop submissions dealing with up-to-date industrial work and investigations into eLearning Markets to the eLBa2013 Business Track! Please submit a workshop specification in English or German language via EasyChair until March 10, 2013.
    Workshop specifications underlie a business-oriented evaluation procedure. A workshop specification includes the nomination of a workshop chair, a moderator and speakers as well as the specification of a theme of the workshop which must comply with aim and scope of the eLBa2013 conference. The specification shall include an estimation of the size of workshop in terms of number of participants expected. The workshop structure is expected to include an impulse presentation and statements to report experience gained from practice. The main objective of a workshop is to stimulate in-depth discussion on the workshop theme. The Business Track Language is German or English!
    Short descriptions of the workshops may be publishes in the conference proceedings if we receive a camera-ready version according to the template by April 21, 2013.

  • We ask for exhibition or poster submissions coping with recent academic or non-academic projects, demonstrations, work from practice or products and services. The exhibition provides an excellent possibility for industry to present solutions on the relevant topics. The exhibition stands are directly in the conference area so that there is a permanent contact to the participants.
    Exhibition/Poster specifications are neither reviewed nor evaluated due to content. Exhibition Specifications must include required resources of booth space in terms of devices, persons, tables, chairs etc. Accepted Specifications will be notified explicitly.
